Quinta dos Carqueijais

The National Park of Peneda-Gerês (NPPG) covers the territory of 22 parishes distributed by the municipalities of Arcos de Valdevez, Melgaço, Montalegre, Ponte da Barca and Terras de Bouro. This protected area forms a conjunction with the Spanish Natural Park of Baixa Limia – Xurés Sierra, constituting with this, since 1997, the Geres-Xurés Transfrontier Park and the Biosphere Reserve with the same name.
